Cocozy Hot Cocoa
This prototype package was made as the final project in a class structured around a series of related projects about the development of a brand identity. Over the course of the class, I developed a logo, graphic standards, business stationary, and prototype packaging for an imaginary hot cocoa brand, "Cocozy".

The logo and the business card I developed for the hot cocoa brand are above and to the right respectively. When I started developing Cocozy's brand identity, I wanted to frame the product as something soothing and cozy to unwind with at the end of the day. This idea led me to playing with imagery related to the night sky and a focus on cooler colors.
Packaging Development

The main restrictions on this project were: 1) We couldn't make a simple rectangular box, and 2) We had to print and put together the prototype ourselves. The first restriction pushed me to consider increasingly unusual container shapes while the second restriction reined me in with the physical limitations of cardstock, tape, and glue. The final prototype could comfortably fit in my somewhat small hand.
The flat package design, as seen above, includes the cloud stickers I used to seal the top tabs of the container. The clouds added a fun graphic element and had the added advantage of fitting more easily around the curve than a standard oval sticker because of the way they taper downwards and their wavy shapes can endure more crinkling than an oval can before looking bad.
